+ Why should I apply to Medical Obs?

+ What are the tuition prices and cost for MedicalObs?

We are an exclusive, private, tuition-based educational experience. Our tuition pricing is competitive to other observership programs and hospital medicine clinical-refresher programs out there. We have 3 observership options to choose from based on your needs. MedicalObs prides itself with a Well Reviewed and Premiere Quality Observership Experience. + What is your refund policy?

We provide UP TO A FULL REFUND if you are not completely satisfied with your experience with MedicalObs. MedicalObs wants you to have the best and most rewarding observership experience possible. We pride ourselves in quality and value. Your Tuition payment acts as your deposit to hold your observership date and position. We book on first come, first serve basis, subjective to a full review of your application, and full tuition payment. The sooner you complete this process, your more easily we can secure your position.

+ Are observership positions garaunteed?

Observership position availablity is based on our preceptor availability. We work together to best match your needs and requests to provide an enjoyable and educational experience. Applications are screened and reviewed prior to approval. Tuition payment required in full, to act as deposit, to lock-in observership date and position.

+ How soon should I apply to your program?

You should apply at least 2-3 months before you would like to begin the program. Credentialing with the US Hospital as an observer can take up to 2 months to process. We help transition and facilitate this process for you. So, the sooner the better. We fill positions on a first come first serve, with rolling admission process all year long.

+ Where will I live?

We will help you to find a place to live based on your needs and requirements. Lodging, travel and driving expenses are not covered in tuition fees. Most applicants choose to stay within 30 miles of their designated hospital site.

+ Do you sponsor observers for a work/student visa?

No. At this time we do not sponsor VISAS. Please apply only if you have a valid visa and you are able to be physically present in USA. You will not be eligible if you do not have a valid visa or live in USA.

+ How many observers do you have at a time?

There will only be 1-3 observers max per preceptor attending at any given time. We will ensure that you get the most out of your experience by a focused small group setting.

+ Will MedicalObs write a letter of recommendation (LOR)?

Yes. Pending successful performance and satisfactory evaluation review, you will receive a personalized letter of recommendation from the Chairman/Program director of MedicalObs and the physician you observed.

+ DOES MEDICALOBS REQUIRE USMLE STEP 1 OR STEP 2 SCORES PRIOR TO APPLYING?

NO. We do not have a minimum step 1 or step 2 requirement. However, for our Honors Scholarship Program, we do give priority to those applicants with competitive 99th Percentile USMLE step scores. If you have not completed USMLE Step 1 or Step 2, please type "000" under Step Score section on the application.

+ Can I apply to MedicalObs without taking USMLE STEP 1 OR STEP 2?

YES, you can still apply for our Observership Programs. If you have not completed USMLE Step 1 or Step 2, please type "000" in the USMLE Step Score field on the application.

+ How long after I apply and submit my application will I know if I got accepted into Medical Obs?

The screening process starts typically 2-4 weeks after submission of your application form. Applications that have been fully completed with supporting uploaded documents are processed sooner. Once your documents have been uploaded into the portal and your application file is complete, you will need to schedule your 20 miunute Consultation Interview with Dr Kalan. All applicants whom have completed the interview and paid in full are processed with priority first.

+ Do you offer a program for medical students or pre-medical students?

Yes. At this time our primary focus is on US senior medical students, pre-medical students, foreign medical graduates, international medical graduates, students or physicians who did not match into US residency, residency re-applicants or any student or physician looking to obtain a refresher in US hospital based medicine.

+ What is the social and networking experience MedicalObs offers?

We provide opportunities for applicants to visit places such as; museums, theme parks, music concerts, American football games, American hockey games, American baseball games, beach and boat trips, restaurant visits, etc. We provide these opportunities because these environments establish networking opportunities with you and your preceptor physician outside of the hospital setting and a chance to meet the local community you will be part of. We connect you to real people in the community to engage and acclimate to the local culture and surroundings. This will help you stand apart from the typical applicant.

Financial

+ Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?

We do not offer financial aid, however we do grant scholarships to highly competitive applicants with unique attributes and circumstances and 99th percentile USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 scores.

+ What are the tuition prices and cost for MedicalObs?

+ What goes into tuition fee assessments?

We at MedicalObs believe that the opportunity and experience you will have with us is an investment into your future. We value your time and are confident your will gain from this program. You will be with highly qualified, board-certified, licensed physician leaders in the area. The tuition fees cover the necessary expenses for administrative fees, on-site support, government taxes, preceptor advisors, rental spaces for didactic sessions, live guest lecturers, accent and dialect coaching, interview preparations, personal statement editing, networking events. This is not an all-inclusive list.

+ What costs and expenses are not included in the tuition?

MedicalObs will not cover lodging, food, travel, car rental, insurance, visa, and relocation expenses. We will provide assistance and guidance for such expenses.
